Welcome!
I appreciate you joining us for our Home for the Holidays concert. This celebration of the season will include many of your favorite songs and carols.
Along with many well-known songs, we’ve included some that may be new to you. The Dearest Spot on Earth is a beautiful song written by W. T. Wrighton (published in 1857) that may be unfamiliar, but I’m sure will touch your heart as an ode to missing home and wishing you could be with the ones you love. We’ve also programmed a newer work, The Richardson Carol, by one of our singers, Jean Richards. This piece was premiered last season and I loved the opportunity to be able carry on the tradition of singing it again this year to celebrate our city, Richardson.
The RCC is a non-auditioned choral ensemble. Anyone who loves to sing is welcome to join us no matter their musical experience. We believe that singing is one of the most joyous things we can do as a community. That’s why our motto is Sing For Joy! We hope you’ll consider joining us.
Now, it’s time to sit back, relax and enjoy Home for the Holidays featuring YOUR Richardson Community Chorale.
